Pilipa’a volleyball is well represented at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Boys Volleyball State Tournament with players on the Waiakea Warriors, Pahoa Daggers and Kamehameha-Hawaii Warriors. The Pilipa’a Girls 13′s won the Girls 14′s division of the Piopio Bears Tournament held Friday and Saturday (Nov.21 & 22) at the Hilo Armory. The girls finished pool play with an 8-0 record. Pilipa’a faced their toughest challenge to date in their semi-final match against Cincinatti Attack. They battled to a 28-26 first game victory. Pilipa’a defeated TNT 17 Elite (25-15, 28-26) in their second match of the day. Pilipa’a’s record is now 8-0 in the tournament and they are the only undefeated team in the 48-team Boy’s 17′s Club Division.
